It does NOT control the temperature of the water, nor does it keep it ice-free (see the Perfect Climate, also in our store).
Your pond liner will not be burned or damaged, and your electric bill won't go through the roof. It uses only 100 watts - 10-15 times less electricity than products trying to accomplish the same goals.
